Will it break in the winter?
Yes. Our products are not freeze-proof and if any water is allowed to sit in the tops and freeze, it will cause cracking and break. Winter storage is always recommended to prevent any damages. You can get full year use out of your birdbath if you use a birdbath heater for the colder months.
Are the glazes safe and free of toxins?
Yes, all of our glazes are safe for the birds. The US has very strict regulations when it comes to production and manufacturing so we make sure that all of our products are going to be safe and environment friendly.
Will the handpainting fade?
Unfortunately yes, but this takes many, many years. Like most things left outdoors, they will eventually fade. If you have one of our Handpainted birdbath sets and see your piece fading, you can find Outdoor Paint and touch it up for a personal touch.
Is it really made with Ohio Clay?
Yes it really is made right here in Roseville, Ohio! We have a local clay mine, which is dug weekly and hauled down the road a few miles to our factory in Roseville. Everything is made on site here, from dirt to shipped directly to you. We also make about half of our glazes ourselves and source the others from our friends at Mayco in Columbus, OH!
My top broke on my birdbath, is there anything i can do?
Sadly no, once they are broken there is not much you can do. Most glues are not safe for the wildlife that will be enjoying your birdbath. If you only have hairline cracks in your top and want to prevent further damage - we recommend using FlexSeal Clear. Once the sealant has cured for 24hrs, it is safe for the birds.
How do i clean my birdbath?
Use a wildlife friendly cleaner to scrub any dirt and gunk away. Some of our staff use a bucket of hot water and some Comet to clean theirs. Just mix comet with the water and scrub until clean. Rinse thoroughly Do not let the mixture soak in to the bath
How do i stop animals from knocking over my birdbath?
There's not much you can do. Animals will always do what they want with no regards for your birdbath. Some of our sets are now made with a locking feature to help prevent bigger wildlife from knocking them over. Our locking sets include: All Handpainted sets, Simple Elegance sets, and Zanesville sets. For sets that do not lock we recommend using our Birdbath Adhesive strips (found in Accessories) to help stick the top to the pedestal.

We strive to make sure that orders placed online are taken care of within 2-4 days if your product is in stock and a 2-4 week window during peak months, but sometimes things happen. Making pottery from scratch to a finished piece takes time, science, and a bit of luck. There are several ingredients and factors that go into the clay or our glazes that are sourced and if they are delayed that holds up production. We supply the whole country with American made pottery on a staff of 60 and our online department is only 2 people. Please allow us some extra time to take care of your order.
My item does not look the same color as the picture online.
Some of our glazes have great dimensions to them that could be changed by several factors during the process of making finished pieces such as:
How the glaze was made - the right mixture of the correct measurements
How the glaze was sprayed on the piece
What kiln it was set on / position inside of kilns
Temperature it was fired at
We strive to display an "average" look online for those glazes that have a wider range of color and tone but can not guarantee the same results every time like other glazes we have. Those glazes affected by these factors are:
Mosaic Turquoise
Blue Surf
Copper Green
Rootbeer
Patina
These glazes create one of a kind products and give uniqueness for each customer.
